One of the most organised sample libraries we’ve ever seen, URC has drummer Joost Hendrickx playing a variety of rhythms on five ride cymbals – by Bosphorus, Istanbul and Zildjian – at five tempi between 80 and 170 bpm. The loops are supplimented by reverb tail samples and a full set of one-shots for making your own patterns. The rides themselves sound sufficiently different to each other, Hendrickx’ playing all them is ace, and it all hangs together very well, but we think the price is a little too high.
