Any soundware collection featuring a sample named ‘SideChainedForest’ has to be worth investigating, and this one, it turns out, ends up being a keeper. Samplephonics are all about the found sounds this month, and Acoustic Cycles makes superb use of them – alongside all manner of acoustic instruments – in providing a 389-strong tour de force of “future hip-hop beats”, textures, drones, melodic loops tails and one-shots. As with Organic House & Electronica, you don’t get a huge number of files for your 35 quid, but again, the exceptional quality justifies the price.
